Michael Bay will produce The Rising for Paramount

Paramount Pictures has acquired a pitch from The Killing writer Soo Hugh entitled The Rising for Michael Bay to produce.

Story details are being kept under wraps, although the project is being described as a cross between Eagle Eye and The Usual Suspects. Michael Bay will produce alongside his Platinum Dunes partners Andrew Form and Bradley Fuller.

Aside from her work on The Killing, Soo Hugh also wrote for ABC's short-lived series The River, and the network's upcoming show Zero Hour, debuting this fall. She is also developing an original pilot dubbed Infection that she sold to ABC Studios.

No production schedule was given for this new thriller.
